HIMSS CAHIMS/CPHIMS Certification Renewal

This 4MEDPLUS programs are approved for continuing education (CE) hours for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS) and the Certified Associate in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS).

For CAHIMS, you are required to obtain 45 CEs during your renewal cycle.

  • A minimum of 25 of the 45 CEs must be obtained from HIMSS or HIMSS-Approved Provider activities.

For CPHIMS, you are required to obtain 45 CEs during your renewal cycle.

  • A minimum of 25 of the 45 CEs must be obtained from HIMSS or HIMSS-Approved Provider activities.

CHIME CHCIO Certification  

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) recognizes the 4MEDPLUS programs for continuing education units (CEUs) towards the Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) Program.  A certificate of participation is required for submission and is issued upon successful completion of the course.

CHCIO certification status requirements**:

  • Successfully pass the Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) examination
  • Have minimum three years of professional experience in a healthcare CIO or equivalent role within the past six years*
  • Complete 25 qualifying Continuing Education Units (CEUs) within the 24 months prior or 12 months after enrolling in the program
